We wanted to offer our condolences to Carl's family.  Carl was a presence in town that will be sorely missed.  He always had time to sit and share a story when he was in the hardware store.  He would reminisce about Jeff's dad being his introduction into the Masons, his family or just life in Friendship.  His soft spoken gentleness will be missed by our family, and we are so sorry for your loss.

Tracey and family.  I am deeply saddened by this news.  Growing up in a small community, you are touched forever by their lives.  One of the greatest stories I have of Carl and the man that he was, was probably the 1st time I we met.  My dad was working in the bus garage as a driver.  I was probably 9 or 10 at the rime.  I left the school to go to the garage to find my dad.  Your dad and my dad were talking and my dad introduced me to your dad.  I remember shaking his hand and saying hi Mr. Schneider.  While he still had a hold of my hand, I remember him looking me in the eye and saying, Mr. Schneider is my dad, you can call me uncle Carl.  From that day one, he was uncle Carl to me.  Rest in peace uncle Carl.
